What is Visible Vote?
Your Vote Now Counts Past Election Day! Visible Vote is a free application created to empower Facebook, iPhone, Blackberry, Google Android and Windows users to advise congress on how to vote on the major upcoming legislation, follow current events, understand their legislators voting records, and compare the records with their own personal belief systems. After you advise congress on how to vote on your behalf the application will cross compare your vote to your representative after they vote and provide you feedback on their performance. Every week the application compiles the users voting record and sends this information to the appropriate legislator clearly indicating whether or not their constituents support or oppose their views on particular issues.
How can I get Visible Vote?
Visible Vote is available on Facebook, iPhone, Blackberry, Google Android, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. Download the application to start voting.
Is it REALLY free? Whats the catch?
Visible Vote was designed from the beginning to be a free service for Legislators, Voters, and even challenging campaigns. The application was developed to strengthen communication between voters and the people that represent them. So how do we sustain our business? Easy, Visible Vote is voting software. Visible Vote sells licenses of its software outside of the political environment to organizations/companies in order for them to ask employees questions or even run internal elections.
I'm a Legislator, represent one or running for office, how can we use Visible Vote to work with our Constituents?
Visible Vote provides many services for legislators, legislative staff, campaign staff, and potential candidates. Some of which are a bidirectional communications platform to your constituents, the ability to receive campaign donations, and real-time tracking of constituent desires. If you are interested in these services please contact us at info@visiblevote.us
How does Visible Vote Send Messages to Our Officials?
Congressional officials dont allow anyone to email them directly and they require you to contact them through convoluted websites. To solve this problem Visible Vote had to send all messages via Fax. Visible Vote sends faxes to each legislative official for the Vote Tallies and individual messages through Visible Vote. The faxes are received electronically by congress (we called them to make sure we weren't using too much paper).
How do I reset my Visible Vote Password?
If you forgot your password you can reset it using our website. Just follow this link and directions
What does RTA stand for?
RTA stands for Real Time Approval. This is the job approval rating that our users are giving to their representatives. Users can only cast a job approval (RTA) vote on a legislator in their district. You also have the ability to change that vote at any time.
Can a user vote in multiple districts?
No. Users votes are tied to their account which is then tied to their phone or device. If a user switches into another district their votes only count in the district they reside in. This prevents users from voting multiple times on any issue in multiple districts.
I dont have Text Messaging, can I verify?
No, however verification of accounts is optional. We are working on new ways to verify a persons account without text messaging their cell phones. If you have an unverified account your vote still counts and is still sent to your legislators. We use these verified accounts to check our statistical information.
Why does Visible Vote ask for my Name, Birth Year, Political Party, etc?
Visible Vote collects this information to make the votes and information we gather more valuable to our legislators. Your legislators want to know who you are and that you belong in their district. Much of this same information is asked when you contact them through their websites. Our goal is to keep Visible Vote free by understanding demographic information. We take your privacy very seriously and we take extreme precautions to protect it. Here is a link to our Terms of Use Policy.
How do I contact Visible Vote?
